politicians are so funny said the bum
the bum was listening to the car radio of the person who hired him to clean his winshield and heard quite a funny conversation. some congressman was on wfan 660 discussing the steroid hearings and chris 'mad dog' russo made a remarkable statement. mr. russo said something along the lines that regardless what is going on in baseball and other professional sports, its ultimately up to the parents responsibility to make sure their kids aren't taking steroids or any other drugs. that you can't solely blame an athlete if a kid starts taking steroids. the congressman then replied , sure you could and the bum was in amazement and so was chris russo who now became the mad dog. he was blown away by how the congressman could argue that somehow its the player's fault, and mostly the player's fault, that a kid takes steroids. since the kid worships the athlete the athlete must take responsibility.
lol.
what happened to some personal responsibility in this country? the bum takes responsibility for him being a bum yet others can't accept blame for when they are clearly at fault. on this personal issue - who is at fault, not the athlete, but the kid and his parents. his parents should take some responsibility for not getting through to the kid. i mean when your kid is responding more to a person he/she hasn't even met more than their own parent, there is a problem, and the problem is your parenting skill. stop passing the buck folks, and looking to society to blame your problems on. 99% of the time the cause of your problems is staring at directly at you in the mirror.

oh mr. speckles. you make good points. indeed, people aren't totally autonomous but at the same time when we look for a single party (yes, foolish but we do anyway) to blame, i think the blame has to be put on the individual in most cases (there are expeceptions to the rule). in the case of children, i think its either the child or the parent or possibly a combination of the two. though we are like any organism in an environment and are affected by the variables around us, we aren't controlled by them. i understand athletes might be tempted to do so but the decision to do it wasn't forced upon them, they decided to poison their systems on their own. indeed it would make their lives much easier but lets not forget - thats a choice.
oh, mr. speckles, feel free to expand the issue. i put the blame on teenage pregnancy on the mother, father, and their parents. for unwanted pregnancy, i call the mother a murderer and even the father if he doesn't protest hard enough. yeah, i just went off on a tangent there but i am fueling the fire and i am curious about your response.
